Big R's Retreat Secluded and located in Nature

Welcome to our home: where we have found peace and relaxation for over 20 years. A German native, Big R fell in love with the open land and rolling hills of Wisconsin, becoming a US citizen in the 80s. He met Curly, a Chicago city girl, who brought a little city to his country life. They enjoy raising buffalo and spending warmer days on their porch enjoying the fresh air and beautiful views (with no mosquitos!). Now they want to share their idyllic and peaceful home with you. Drive down a dead-end road and pull up to a rustic cabin filled with high-tech and cozy amenities. We have something for everyone with a gas fireplace, tv (complete with dish, Cinemax, HBO and a Bluetooth sound system), board games and a full kitchen. Take a drink outside to soak in the hot tub or sit around the campfire. When the day is done, you will fall asleep instantly on the memory foam bed, either in the loft or the bedroom, and wake up to a beautiful sunrise looking out over your little getaway.

Staying in a dome amidst nature is a unique experience. The circular structure offers an amazing view of the surroundings, with peaceful sounds of rustling leaves, chirping birds, and a flowing river below. The cozy dome has a queen size bed, night stands, a seating area, mini fridge, and a k-cup coffee maker & heater/ac. At night, the starry sky and nature's sounds lull you to sleep. Waking up, you feel refreshed, and the peaceful surroundings and breathtaking views leave a lasting impression.

Our cozy and romantic getaway is nestled in the scenic Baraboo Bluffs, just minutes to Devil's Lake, Devil's Head Resort, Historic Downtown Baraboo, wineries, distilleries & more. Take the picnic set to Devil's Lake or Parfrey's Glen, then relax on the patio for smores and yard games around the fire pit. Finish the evening snuggled up with wine & vinyl on the player. We have ample parking so bring the boat, we'd love to help you getaway.

The 250 square foot "Pine Cone" is a one room, round yurt-style cabin located on our 8 acre property. We border the Pine River in Richland County, center of the beautiful Driftless region of southwest Wisconsin. Perfect for a quiet, nature-based retreat, we are less than four hours drive from Chicago, Milwaukee, and the Twin Cities. Enjoy the double jetted tub or the luxury shower. A fully equipped kitchen, satellite TV, DVD player, and air-conditioning ensure comfort. Warm up by the Vermont wood-burning stove from November to April. Enjoy the pond view, Baraboo bluff, and meet our friendly horses and dogs. We look forward to welcoming you!
