Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. View the picturesque fishing village nestled at the northern-most tip of Cape Breton Island with breathtaking views of the Gulf of St. Lawrence, Cabot Strait, and the Highlands mountains. Many also come here to explore the coast in a whale watch boat for the chance to marvel at ninety foot long fin whales and to hike the magnificent mountains which tower above our seaside village and to kayak our coastline, to view first hand, the rugged cliffs.

Meat Cove Campground (Cabin #1, Bring Own Bedding)

Each camp cabin sleeps 3 people comfortably. Inside each cabin is one double/single bed (with mattress). A table and chairs and 6 foot shaded deck with table outside. The cabins have solar power. (Small lamp and a place to charge small devices. You must also bring all of your own bedding (sleeping bags, pillows, blankets, etc) and all of your own cooking supplies (pots/pans, cups, plates, silverware) These cabins do not have any plumbing or heat. Hot showers and flush toilets are below the cabin

This amazing, private property is nestled snuggly on the most Northern tip of Cape Breton Island. Relax on the deck with a book from the private library as you listen to the whales playing in the Atlantic or travel the short distance to the wharf for fresh seafood and take in some of the local entertainment: you, too, will want to dance a jig to the fiddler's tune. Roast marshmallows in the fire pit after a fantastic hike or share a glass of wine on the balcony off the master bedroom.

The Trailhead Guest Cottage

Our peaceful oceanfront guest cottage is situated at the head of the 9.5 km Pollett's Cove hiking trail.  We recommend a two night stay - first night, settle in with a beverage, evening sunset and star gazing.  Wake to coffee and farm fresh breakfast delivered to your door step (except in August when we are on vacation), before hitting the trail to Pollett's Cove, the Skyline or any of the 30 other nearby national park trails. Have a swim, and return to a hot outdoor shower. Repeat!

Enjoy your stay in Northern Cape Breton in this newly remodelled apartment! It's 7 minutes from the Cabot Trail in Sugar Loaf, NS (Dingwall is our mailing address). It's a short walk to the Ocean down our driveway with Mountain views. Wi-Fi and parking are included. The home itself was built around 1880. It has been a lodge and Inn since then. There's a General store in the house, not active as a store but somewhat of a museum that will be opened in the future.

Cottage #3 holds a maximum of 2 people. This cottage has one bedroom with one double bed. Ideal for the couple that travels light. The living room features satellite tv and wifi. The kitchen is fully equipped with a refrigerator, stove, microwave, coffee maker and utensils. The bathroom has a 48 inch fiberglass shower.
