We have Farm animals to meet, many Distillery’s, local attractions, restaurants, pubs & shops all a short drive away, perfect for quiet getaway & exploring the beautiful area with its countryside, beaches & mountains, suitable for a couple/friends sharing/couple with baby.

This traditional Highland cottage is spacious, bright and cosy. Original features include a huge 18th century stone fireplace and slate floors, alongside modern comforts such as a wood burning stove, open plan kitchen, shower room and king size bed (+travel cot on request). The cottage is set in a private garden with views of fields and trees. Private parking. A fantastic base to discover beautiful walks and Highland landmarks; Strathpeffer village 1 mile, Inverness 18 miles, Route 500 2 miles.

Duffus House Lodge - rural retreat

The Lodge is a traditional gate lodge located at the entrance to Duffus Estate, on the edge of the small village of Duffus. Set in from the Elgin/Duffus B road, it is surrounded by Estate woodland and open fields which are home a host of wildlife, such as our cheeky red squirrels or shy roe deer. We welcome up to 2 well behaved dogs and you can explore the network of paths across the Estate and beyond. Duffus is only 2 miles from the magnificent Moray coast with its unspoilt sandy beaches.

Easily accessed from the A9 (on the NC500 route) and just a two-minute walk from a secluded beach and estuary with lots of short walks from the front door and plenty longer ones in the vicinity. Foulis Gate Lodge is a Highland cottage on the Gates of an historic, private, Highland estate with its own drive. The secluded location offers direct access to extensive gardens. The nearest amenities are 2miles in Evanton or 5miles to the ancient Burgh of Dingwall. Foulis Castle is a 15 min walk away from the Storehouse Restaurant & Farm shop, which is situated on the shore/beach of the Cromarty Firth (Mon-Sat 9-5pm). My place is good for NC500 travellers, couples, and business travellers.
