Visit either of our beautiful Victorian apartments, 'The Nevis' and 'The Lomond' are located in the heart of Milngavie, and 50 metres from the start of the epic West Highland Way. 'The Nevis' and 'The Lomond' apartments sit side by side with each other, they operate independently with four guests in each, but if you wanted to have eight guests staying over the two apartments this is also available on request. If you ever find 'The Nevis' is full on the dates you require please check 'The Lomond' for availability. Enjoy your stay in one of Scotland’s best towns. 'The Nevis' has been thoroughly modernised, while retaining a number of the original features. The interior decor beautifully harmonises the contemporary and traditional, and maximises the historical detail throughout. This apartment is a comfortable, functional, yet truly luxurious place to stay. 'The Nevis' is situated on the first floor. You will be welcomed by a traditional Scottish 'Close' gaining access to the front door from two flights of stairs, around 20 in total. The apartment has been refurbished with the traveller in mind, but also being careful to retain some of the original Victorian features. The apartment has a self contained kitchen, including oven, hob, microwave, fridge and plenty of storage for that long stay. There is also a dining table in the bay window for four people to enjoy a home cooked meal. If cooking at home isn't your thing, there are several restaurants within 100 metres for you to enjoy stunning Scottish food, or just a drink. Garvies restaurant is 15 metres from the apartment front door and currently offer any guests at West Highland Apartment 20% off their food bill. The apartment has two double bedrooms offering a Superkng in the master bedroom and a pair of single beds in the second bedroom (as a special request the second bedroom can be made into a double if required). Both bedrooms have wardrobe space and a vanity unit including a hairdryer in Bedroom two. The main living room of the property offers a large three and two sofa for the weary (or not so weary) traveller to relax. There is a 55" 4K TV with Virgin Fiber WIFI if you fancy a movie night via our free Netflix offering. Access to the self contained kitchen is done via the hallway, offering that modern touch in a traditional property. Milngavie Town Centre currently boasts twelve places to eat and enjoy a coffee: Costa, Cafe Alba, F Pizza, Andiamo, Finsbay, Garvies to name a few. Milngavie is most recognised for being the start of the West Highland Way, but other walks, including the Clyde Costal Path, also meet in Milngavie. Throughout the year many events take place in the town including the Highland Games, Cycling Events, Car Events, Milngavie Folk Club, so you will have plenty to choose from on your visit. River Cottage Near Loch Lomond
River Cottage is a detached riverside property located in the quiet village of Croftamie on the edge of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. This charming cottage has been finished to a high standard and enjoys lovely views over rolling fields. The spacious decking area overlooks the river "Catter Burn" and is an ideal vantage point for watching the abundance of local wildlife. As an added bonus, free riverside fishing is available from within the grounds of the cottage and there is direct access onto open fields. The open plan living space has two large sofas (one being a sofa bed, making it possible to accommodate up to four adults). The kitchen area is fully fitted with table and chairs for dining. Local amenities are available in Croftamie, including a pub renowned for its delicious food and a number of small shops. Preferred lets are Saturday 3pm to Saturday 10am on a self catering basis, however if you wish to enquire about any dates/times outwith this or a short break then please contact me and I will try to accommodate you if I can. We are delighted to welcome dogs as long as they bring their own beds, are not allowed on furniture and not left unattended. Worth noting that we have chickens roaming freely and the cottage is surrounded by fields which have livestock. We charge £10 per dog, per night and this can be paid at check in.
