Formally a fortified castle “Fort de La Bastide “ was constructed on the site of a Roman military station. The earliest historical mention is 1417 and it's long history includes an invasion in 1584 by Protestants during the period of the Huguenot wars. The fort has maintained many original features including the old stone staircase at the front door leading up to a 4 bedroomed loft apartment . There is full access to the large garden including an 10mx4m in-ground heated swimming pool .

A l'étage, grand salon, 1 chambre lit 160 avec baignoire led, 1 chbre 2 lits 90, 1 chbre 1 lit 160, une SDB. Soirées interdites.

The castle has been inhabited all year-round and has all modern comfort and features. The castle features a beautiful parc of around 3 acres all enclosed behind original high stone-walls and a heated swimming pool of 12x4m
