A private Satoyama retreat in the mountains of Nara, just 20 minutes from the city. This traditional one-group-per-day house is renovated with reclaimed wood and uses fresh mountain spring water. Enjoy hands-on cooking with organic rice and vegetables from our farm. Relax in a wood-fired bath, and in the morning experience a Japanese tea ceremony surrounded by nature. Families can enjoy watching their children from inside. Prioritizing hygiene, our place is cleaned by professionals and equipped with brand-new sanitary facilities.

Nara Park is also nearby, offering a wonderful blend of history and nature, making this private rental house perfect for family or friends. It is conveniently located for access to major attractions like Nara Park and Kasuga Taisha. For long-term guests, we offer drinks, snacks, and other perks. We will do our best to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

Hinoki house: Traditional machiya, walk to sights.

A newly renovated machiya town house with typical layout and a small garden, retaining the tradition of Naramachi - the old merchant town of Nara. Easy access via bus and train, supermarket, restaurants, convenience store, bakery, and a Japanese bath house just minutes away. This house belonged to a famous wood carver of "ittobori" - a traditional Nara technique of carving the wood. A projector and a record player will make your stay even more pleasant. Enjoy!
