Mariners Cottage is a beautifully restored traditional cottage, nestled between colourful cobbled streets in the charming fishing village of Appledore, North Devon. Our newly renovated dog friendly cosy cottage is the perfect base to explore the local area, the fine eateries and the stunning coastal walks. The log burner is perfect to relax in front of, after a day out. We live locally, and are on hand to help with any recommendations or questions you may have. We look forward to welcoming you.

The Tarka Suite

We live in a quiet location situated on the outskirts of Barnstaple, tucked away in a quiet residential area. Nearest amenities are approx 15 min walk. “The Tarka suite”is made up of 3 seperate rooms plus a covered garden room with electric points. There is a king sized bed, 2 seater sofa, a small dining area and small well equipped kitchen area which includes a std fridge, a ninja twin drawer acti fry and single hob. Crockery, pans and cutlery are provided. Use of hot tub at extra cost.

Swallow View, Umberleigh, North Devon

Beautiful guest house just outside Umberleigh in North Devon, in the heart of the Taw Valley. Our guest house is situated atop a hill with panoramic views of the surrounding scenery and historic Tarka Trail. Fully self-contained building, patio and parking area. The dog friendly cottage boasts breathtaking views over the estuary, a wonderful sunny walled garden and two inviting sitting rooms, each centred around a cosy wood burner for ultimate relaxation. Dummett Cottage is a Grade 2 listed 3 bedroom fishing cottage with an incredible garden backing directly onto the Taw-Torridge estuary. Sit on the patio and watch beautiful sunsets over the Atlantic as fishing boats and yachts sail by. Set on one of Appledore's oldest streets, and dating from around 1700, Dummett Cottage is one of the original houses built in Appledore. From the inglenook fireplace to the exponses beams and arches, this cottage is full of character and history.

A traditional mariner's cottage, situated 50 metres from the Quay in the heart of Appledore, close to several popular pubs and restaurants. The cottage has been fully modernised and combines traditional character with modern facilities.
