Paris offers a lot of speakeasy bars for night owls. Some of the bars have secret entrances so be ready for a fun night. The bars have amazing cocktails, beers, non-alcoholic drinks, good music and a good ambiance. There are plenty of secret bars and unfortunately we cannot explore all of them in one night. However, I will share with you the location of other secret bars which you can visit later. Please be advised drinks or food NOT included. Other things to note Experience time says it lasts 2 hours but you are welcome to stay at the bars as long as you like. Secret Cellar Cheese & Wine Tasting
At a charming cheese boutique in the Marais neighborhood, we'll dive straight into the vast and exciting world that is French cheese: the history, production process, science, regional specialties, and cultural significance. After exploring the cheeses in store, we'll descend to the 17th century cellar for the cheese-and-wine tasting, and even step into the cheese-aging chamber (please note that the cellar is not active during the months of July and August). While we can't guarantee that we'll try all 500+ varieties of French cheeses that are known to exist, you will taste a wide and representative selection! We'll also pair the cheeses with delightful organic or low intervention wines that will have your taste buds singing. Other things to note Our tasting room is located in a below-ground cellar, accessed via a steep staircase. Hence, this experience may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility.
Wine Tour de France, with Cheese and Meat
[Public sessions in English] This experience takes place in a typical wine bar, not far from le Louvre and the Opera. It is made private for the group (the evening crowd coming later). We hop on a Tour de France of wine, with 6 wines (white and red) being served. All are from small or reputed producers. We go beyond Bordeaux and cover different regions, different grapes / blends and different styles. These are wines you should expect really every time in restaurants and shops. Food is included: a selection of traditional cheese, charcuterie and French baguette. We first learn to use all our senses to think about wine and perceive various styles which we trace to grape varietals, regions and winemakers. If you want to share your thoughts on the wines, your participation is encouraged. Questions are welcome too. We don’t just talk about the wines and regions but a lot of practical advice is discussed too. 1) How to decipher a label 2) The concept of geographic denomination 3) Pairing food and wine 4) The price of wine and recommendations to buy or order wine We even debunk some myths about wine (e.g. NO! most cheeses don't go well with red wine). This experience is suited for wine enthusiasts who want to learn more about French wine, as well as those who simply enjoy a glass once in a while. It is great for groups too.

Party like/with Parisians with a Popup Tribe -- Bar Crawl
~message us for last minute spots~ If Henry Miller were still alive, he would be taking you marauding through little back streets, but since he isn't (because:dead), you've got us, young Parisians living life to the max and hitting the streets…and the bottle (hey, all the bike rides are our detox, non?) EXCLUSIVELY on AirBnB <3 These are the bars we go to with our friends—we rampage through the un-touristy parts of town… Join a local in love with the city of light on a rampage through the bars of real Paris and maraud like old friends. Think offbeat bars, unassuming on the outside, but throbbing with anxious actresses...lecherous Laurent's...disgruntled poets sweating their regrets over a bière picon. From grandpa dive bars invaded by Gen Z sporting asymmetric haircuts, to weird—or just plain cool—spots we know to be lively hangouts—barely noticeable (or outright hidden) from the street, you would have probably kept walking—our popup party follows the vibe through alleyways and backstreets. Introverts/solo travelers welcome. Also non-drinkers. (Sober people need fun, too.) And ‘old’ people. Bring it! We romp through about 3 bars, starting out at a funky little place where we buy the first shared round of something French you perhaps haven’t before tried. Then we follow the vibe ALLERGENS NOTE: May contain traces of oversharing **

Paris Food & Wine w/ New York Times Travel Journalist
As a longtime contributor to the Travel section of The New York Times, I have rigorously explored and contributed articles about the lively Bastille neighborhood--my home since 2007. For this tour, I will help guests discover and taste one of the best emerging food and drink areas of Paris. I intend to take a small group (6 max) around to the absolute best places to eat and drink in the neighborhood, from luxury boutiques by celebrities to cultishly worshipped shops to unassuming storefronts that hide deliciousness within. I'll splurge for several specialties--baguettes, cheese, charcuterie, pastries, coffee, chocolate--while talking about neighborhood history, Parisian life, French food and more. Once fully provisioned, we can devour our purchases together at one of my favorite local wine shops, which will provide us with the perfect liquid accompaniment.   My hope is to turn guests on to a great (and overlooked!) fast-rising food area--both its history and its many delicious offerings. With me they will discover award-winning baguettes, a top-flight coffee roaster, a five-star chocolate manufacturer, an old-school sausage seller, a cheese lab, two pastry havens and a supremely cool natural-wine purveyor. I will be the food sherpa and indoctrinate the group into Paris deliciousness.
